These days, curly hair is gaining in the ranks of popularity. Celebrities like Sarah Jessica Parker, Kate Hudson, Kate Winslet, Nicole Kidman and American Idol winner Jordin Sparks embrace the sexy unruliness of their natural look. If you are someone who was blessed with curly hair, consider yourself lucky. Since I began enhancing my curls rather than hiding them, the tables have turned dramatically. I can't tell you how many times people with stick straight hair have come up to me and said, "I would give anything to have your hair. No matter what I do, my hair just won't hold a curl!"
Step by step instructions to take care frizzy hair: -
- Choose a hairstyle, which you can maintain easily.
- Get your split ends trimmed at least 4 times a year.
- Avoid using a razor on your hair. Razors give rise to split ends.
- Do not wash your hair everyday. Allow the natural oil from your hair to come out. The natural oil in your hair will reduce frizz.
- Use conditioners to wet your hair.
- It is not advisable to blow-dry your hair. Blow-drying will make your hair dry.
- Do not brush your hair until and unless you need a fro.
- Avoid using products that are rich in moisture. The moisture fills the cuticle, blocking water from oozing and causes swelling of hair.
- Do not rub your hair with towel. A towel worsens the cuticle and causes them to stand.
- When it is necessary to use a blow dryer, use the dryer in a downward motion towards the end of hair.
- Deep condition your hair once a week or once in alternative weeks.
- Rinse your hair locks in cool water to seal the hair cuticles.
- Avoid frequent shampooing as it encourages frizz.
- Occasionally use hair products with silicon in them.
- Do not use hair products with alcohol ingredients in it. They can dry one 's hair and make frizzes worse.
TRICKS To CONTROL FIZZY HAIR
- People with curly hair really only need to wash their hair every other day or so due to the fact that daily shampooing will make your curls even dryer. If you do have to wash it every day, use a dandruff shampoo like Head & Shoulders, or a moisturizing shampoo like Herbal Essences "Hello Hydration".
- If you wake up in the morning and your curls aren't looking so hot, try a product like Pantene Pro-V Frizz Control Curl Revive. Mist over dry curls to give them moisturization and a frizz-free lift.
- Deep condition your hair once a week with a product like Neutrogena Triple Moisture Daily Deep Conditioner. While in the shower, apply the conditioner from about the middle of your ears down to the ends (this keeps your scalp from getting greasy). Allow to absorb for 10-20 minutes, then rinse.
- If your curls are excessively dry or frizzy, apply a dime-size amount of John Frieda's Frizz Ease Hair Serum after you get out of the shower but before putting in your hair gel.
- Never use a brush on curly hair. De-tangle hair in the shower by running a wide tooth comb through your tresses while conditioning.
- Begin by applying a styling gel, mousse or styling spray to clean, damp hair and blow dry until completely dry. Your curls will form better and last longer with the aid of good quality hair products.
- Clip your hair back in multiple sections. Release one section and brush or comb it to remove any knots or tangles. Spray lightly with a soft-hold hairspray if your hair is very fine and doesn't hold curls well.
- Begin with the undersection of your hair, working your way up to the top. Twist a small section of your hair with your hands for spiral curls, or take a flat, larger section for loose curls.
- Open the curling iron by pressing the lever and insert your hair. Close the curling iron barrel on your hair, making sure that all of the ends of that section are completely enclosed in the barrel.
- Roll the iron up and hold it for about 10 seconds.
- Open the curling iron and release the curls. Proceed with other sections until all areas have been curled.
- Flip your head and shake out the curls, then style your hair with your fingers.
- Spray with a light hold hair spray to keep your curls in place. For humid climates use a humidity resistant hair spray.
